What could be better than hearing the stories that swirl around our lives then watching your child read them for the first time! This box of books is packed with all of the stories that you know (Princess and the Pea, Three Little Pigs, Ugly Duckling) and even a few others (like Martina the Cockroach) that you might not. The repeating structure, simple words, and fabulous pictures will make these stories a great choice for young readers because they already know how the whole story structure goes so they can practice the specific words again and again. But the great thing is that they are not boring either! And the illustrations are superb!
Now just so your expectations are clear there will be lots of words that your little reader will have a hard time with (like delicious) but it repeats so often that they will learn it by sight and not phonetically, which, to my mind, is the right way to teach reading- using both methods. My daughter adores this set of books and I do too, and you can’t say better than that!
